Job Description

Diverse Staffing is now accepting Furniture Hand Sander applicants for immediate hire for a temporary to hire position. In this job, you will work for our client at a facility in Thomasville, NC. This position pays up to $11.00/hr. and is a 1st shift position. You will report to work between 5:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

A Furniture Hand Sander for our team on this assignment will be asked sand pre-finished wooden furniture to be prepped for the finishing process.

 

The following is an example of some of the tasks you may be asked to perform daily working in this position:

·         Lifting up to 50 pounds to move furniture for sanding process

·         Using a respirator while sanding to ensure safe work practices

·         Sanding wooden furniture with a Jitterbug or manual sanding block

  • At least 1 year of consecutive Furniture Sanding experience (Jitterbug or Hand)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced position with strict deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
  • Reliable transportation to arrive at work on time everyday
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Walk, stand, and/or sit for an entire shift
  • Grasp, grip, reach, pull, push, bend, squat, kneel and/or balance
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
