DiverseGOV is currently seeking individuals qualified for a Human Resource Management Services position. If hired, you will work onsite at The United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Texas in Houston, TX. You will report to work Monday through Friday and is a full-time position. Work hours will be established once hired.

The ideal individuals will have performed the following tasks:

  • Provides extensive and in-depth on-the-job training to three to five human resource employees in functional program areas such as classification, recruitment, staffing, performance and awards, as well as technical processing of personnel actions through use of human resource software and government systems.

  • Provides Administrative Division management personnel with a wide range of flexible and innovative strategies in administering staffing and placement activities. Screens applicants and obtains references. At this level, assistants typically have a wide range of personal contacts within and outside the organization.

  • Makes recommendations and provides advice and assistance in resolving staffing as well as employee relations issues. Identifies potential issues and grievance procedures.

  • Reviews and provides technical program advice or provides a full range of technical and complex classification and position management oversight. Makes recommendations on job classification, wage rates, and employee salaries.

Job Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen, must have lived in the US three out of the last five years

  • Must be able to pass an in-depth background check

  • Knowledge of fundamental Human Resources Management laws, regulations and guidelines sufficient to provide on-the-job training, and advice and assistance to government Human Resources staff.

  • Knowledge of U.S. Attorney's office practices and precedents.

  • Knowledge of Civil Service position classification, federal recruitment and staffing techniques and processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access) and WordPerfect Office Suite.
