Job Description

We are assisting our client with their search for a Senior WebSphere/WebLogic Administrator/Developer for their Baltimore, MD location.  This role will ensure the health of their entire WebSphere environment and lead internal Middleware efforts tied to their Learning Management Systems.  A successful candidate with have 5+ years of Middleware experience and a strong understanding of the WebSphere and WebLogic product offerings, including some background in Development tied to enhancing existing systems.  This is contract to hire opportunity with an expected salary of around $100-110K.  Our client can provide Sponsorship upon hire for qualified candidates.

This is a contract to hire opportunity, with an expected hourly rate of $50-$55/hr.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for trouble resolution on complex problems; serves as an escalation point for the most complex systems issues or resolutions; develops root cause analysis activities that resolve significant system issues.
  • Provides expert trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems.
  • Responsible for the implementations for systems and networks.
  • Creates presentations and seeks IT executive management’s approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major business systems serving the enterprise.
  • Provides expert technical guidance and leadership to the technical engineers within the organization.
  • Represents major upgrades and business system replacements in change control.
  • Proposes opportunities to improve results based on targeted or continuous assessment.
  • Researches relevant trends and activities in healthcare, business, competition and regulatory environments; recommends strategy adjustments.
  • Participates in enterprise planning activity, including vendor assessment, technology platform selection and retirement, prioritization and integration.
  • Routinely acts as a subject matter expert for executive management.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or technical institute training
  • 5+ years of Middleware Administration experience
  • Experience with WebSphere, Weblogic or WebCenter (11-12)
  • Experience with Java/J2EE highly preferred
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Project Management skills highly preferred
