Diverse Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Recruiter from the Staffing Services Industry for the position of Staffing Services Specialist I at our company. The employee will work for Diverse Staffing at our Nashville, TN Recruiting Center for this opportunity. Diverse embraces individuals with multi-lingual skills and an individual with Spanish language skills are encouraged to apply but it this is not required for the position. This is a full-time, direct hire position on our internal recruiting team.  Top performers can earn additional performance-based prizes and incentives including an annual trip. Compensation for this position is up to $39,500.00 plus commission.  Compensation is based upon experience and commission is based on personal performance. 


This position requires flexibility in work hours as needed beyond the 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday schedule. Some evenings and Saturdays will be required.  In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to work between Murfreesboro and Antioch area.


The Staffing Services Specialist I is a key role within the Diverse Staffing Services recruiting center who is responsible for providing best-in-class service to Diverse Staffing Service's customers and temporary employees by consulting with customers regarding business needs and areas for improvements, as well as building and strengthening relationships with key customers in conjunction with the Client Services Managers. You will be responsible for order fulfillment through creation of effective sourcing strategies, recruitment, client relations, employee relations, and cost-of-service management.

Operational Duties:

•      Recruit, source, screen, interview, hire, train, and assign employees to open positions

•      Understand our clients' industries, work environments, and needs to effectively intake, confirm, and fill open orders; developing effective sourcing and screening strategies, and job profiles with prospective candidates

•      Place employees on assignments in Applicant Tracking System once new hire paperwork has been completed and job offer has been accepted

•      Close assignments with the appropriate code and add detailed notes in Applicant tracking system when an employee ends an assignment

•      Manage the order life-cycle and meet customer expectations

•      Answer incoming calls, assist candidates and employees as needed, and document any updates in Ultra Staff

•      Perform drug screens and help process background checks on candidates

•      Check voicemails and emails throughout the day and respond to candidates, employees, and customers accordingly

•      Must be flexible with work hours, which may include being on call, and working nights, weekends and holidays as needed

•      Must be flexible to not only recruit, but also perform front office duties as needed

•      Proactive communication and issue resolution with customers and Client Services Managers regarding status of open order requirements, employee, or service issues

•      Identification of new sources for both active and passive candidates

•      Investigate, manage, and resolve employee relations and grievance issues in a timely manner for billable employees; escalate to Corporate HR as needed

•      Partner with Client Services Managers to develop further business and strengthen relationships with existing customers through quality delivery against customer needs and expectations

•      Partner with Client Services Managers to proactively skill market candidates

•      Protect the interests of the employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws and regulations

•      Keep the Staffing Services Manager informed on progress for full book of business as well as any significant issues that may arise with employees or clients that require assistance

•      Conduct company and customer new hire orientations with new employees

Job Requirements

Candidates must meet the following minimum job requirements to be deemed qualified for the position:

•         High School Diploma or GED

•         One or more years of experience working in the Staffing Industry or in a consultative client facing management role (i.e. sales, customer service, account management, consulting, service industry, etc.)

•        Ability to work between Murfreesboro and Antioch area

Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to interact in a respectful manner with a diverse population of colleagues, clients and job applicants; leveraging active listening skills and paying attention to cues from reading their audience

•         Proven communication skills; able to convey one's message in a clear, concise and professional manner, considering one’s audience, in all forms of media (i.e. voicemail, phone, email, face-to-face) and handles conflicts and disagreements constructively

•         Proficient multi-tasking capabilities; able to prioritize multiple tasks at one time, while remaining compliant with policies and delivering against deadlines

•         Proven problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail; able to identify important aspects of a problem, gather appropriate information, determine potential causes, and specify alternative solutions

•         Strong attention to detail; demonstrating attentiveness to all aspects of a task or process, alert and accurate

•         Able to travel to job fairs and/or different office locations to assist with recruiting and operational needs and maintain a flexible work schedule

•         Basic/Intermediate computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office software


The following represents additional preferred skills, competencies, experiences for consideration:

•         Bachelor's degree (Preferably in Business or Human Resources) or equivalent work experience in a staffing agency, corporate recruitment, or customer service type of role

•         Experience and proficiency with recruitment sourcing tools/engines - CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, etc.

•         Experience and proficiency with job advertisement, design, and placement

•         Bilingual skills are a plus
