Diverse Staffing is currently seeking experienced CMM Quality Engineers to start work immediately. You will work on an assignment at a customer’s facility in Jackson, Michigan. This position pays $22.00 to $25.00 /hour. This is a second shift position.

Our customer for this position is a prototype metal stamping and tube bending company located in Jackson, MI. They have been in business since 1991 and serve customers throughout the United States. Here are a few of the tasks you will have on a day-to-day basis on assignment with this client:
  • Program & operate a Brown & Sharp Global CMM.
  • Communicate documented inspection results to managers and manufacturing personnel as necessary.
  • Support and adhere to all company and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance of gage calibration program.
  • Participate in customer meetings regarding methods and inspection requirements (i.e. datum schemes, GD&T concepts and applications as needed).
  • Manage CMM equipment and software agreements and provide feedback to the manager as required.
  • Understand and provide support for PPAP, FAI, source release, gauge R&R, capability studies and special requests to internal and external customers.
  • Able to understand and provide thorough (and accurate) interpretation for GD&T according to ANSI Y14.5.
  • Identify process issues and their resolution through continuous improvement.
  • Program Global CMM software on & offline utilizing free-state and fixture set-ups.
  • Assist process technicians with process improvement information.
  • Program Romer type CMM software on & offline utilizing free-state and fixture set-ups.
  • Prepare documentation such as written descriptions, illustrations, and screen dump when necessary.
  • Able to analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, and processing procedures.
  • Participate in change control processes (e.g., ECR, ECN, Customer Deviations)

Job Requirements

  • Possess exceptional verbal and written skills
  • Proficient in the use of optical comparators, surface plates, and hand-held gauges.
  • Possess more technical aptitude and comprehension, displaying a positive attitude.
  • Discipline, exceptional work ethic and an eye for detail.
  • The ability to function within a moderate stress, fast-paced environment.
  • A solid understanding of GD&T, PC-DMIS blueprints.
  • Experience in Microsoft office software is required.
  • Experience with training manufacturing personnel as needed.
  • Familiarity, or an understanding of industry standards & specifications (i.e.- ASTM, ANSI, AWS, OEM, & SAE)
  • Willingness to participate on various teams for improving inspection methods.
  • Understanding of shop math, basic arithmetic, and trigonometry.
  • Understanding of measurement concepts such as repeatability & reproducibility, accuracy, precision, linearity, stability, constants, variables.
  • Familiarity in metal stamping, tube-bending, laser cutting and other fabricating processes. Knowledge of welding is helpful.
  • Familiarity and experience with AIAG core tool manuals:  APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Layered Audits, CA/PA
  • 2 to 4-year technical degree preferred. Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in the quality field
