Diverse Staffing is currently seeking a Scientist for a local government position on our DiverseGOV team. The Scientist hired by us, will work at the Louisville Water Company, in Louisville, KY 40206. Pay will be based on experience and skill set. Please indicate your wage requirement when applying. You will report to work Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A Scientist for our team at this client location will be asked to represent Diverse Staffing to perform the following responsibilities. This position will require an extensive background and credit check, so please be aware of that as well.

The following in an example of some of the tasks you will perform working at this position:

  • Active involvement in water treatment and distribution operations and understand the water quality issues associated with the operations
  • Design and perform experiments to provide recommendations for improving water treatment and water quality in distribution systems
  • Perform chemical and/or microbiological analyses for water quality monitoring and research project samples as well as appropriate special samples. Enter analytical results accurately into LIMS and communicate analytical results to relevant parties in a timely manner
  • Develop new analytical methods and SOPs for the new methods as needed, and perform QA/QC analysis as required
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments as assigned
  • Maintain all necessary analytical results, quality control and assurance data and laboratory hygiene records as required by LWC and regulatory guidelines
  • Follow and satisfy all laboratory quality control and quality assurance requirements
  • Respond to customer and management inquiries concerning water treatment and water quality.  

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in related scientific field
  • Previous lab experience measuring water quality
  • Previous experience designing and executing experiments
  • Ability to pass a background, credit check and 10 panel drug screen
