Diverse Staffing is currently seeking a Survey Technician for a local government position on our DiverseGOV team. The Survey Technician hired by us, will work at the Louisville Water Company (LWC), in Louisville, KY 40202. Pay will be based on experience and skill set. A Survey Technician for our team at this client location will be asked to represent Diverse Staffing to perform the following responsibilities. This position will require an extensive background and credit check, so please be aware of that as well.

The following in an example of some of the tasks you will perform working at this position:

  • Perform construction/topographic surveys to gather field data for water facilities design and construction
  • Perform property deed research at P.V.A. and courthouse
  • Notify Land Surveyor of progress in the field and communicate work progress, changes and completions to Project Managers and Land Surveyor in a timely fashion
  • Use LWC GIS as-built plans, maps, and other infrastructure records to locate LWC pipelines to identify, locate, and mark underground LWC utilities in the field
  • Perform field locates and stake easements, property lines, and rights-of -way in the field for pipeline and facilities Installation
  • Interpret and understand blueprints, or construction plans from other utilities, highway plans, subdivision or building plans
  • Prepare both AutoCAD and manual drawings to aide in the preparation of pipeline construction, easement plats, and boundary surveys on as needed basis
  • Perform rock soundings to insure accurate measurements and rock quantities for Project Managers. Interpret soundings and avoid other underground utilities and hazards
  • Perform pre-construction video recording of pipeline projects and other special projects
  • Conduct GIS data collection using GPS equipment as necessary
  • Plan Daily GPS data collection routines as necessary using ArcView software and source documentation including but not limited to construction returns, “as-built" drawings and service order data extracts.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous Survey Technician experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcView
  • Ability to pass a background, credit check and 10 panel drug screen
