You know, people just like you! Our Memphis, TN Recruiting Team is taking applications for Forklift Operator Positions in the Marion, AR area. This position pays up to $13.00 per hour.

For four decades out client has proudly manufactured the number one selling medium and heavy-duty trucks in Japan. They also manufacture buses and diesel engines. In the United States, they assemble medium-duty trucks. These manufacturing facilities produce axles, knuckles, and suspension components.

As a Forklift Operator you will be responsible for moving freight, stock, and/or other materials throughout the plant following all safety and quality policies and procedures.

Here are some of the things you can expect to do:

  • Pick, check, audit, sort, over-pack, consolidate, and stage orders.

  • Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications

  • Unload, stage, sort, and bin all inbound bin and bulk materials from various vendors.

  • Meet or exceed established productivity and quality standards. Strict adherence to all published and reasonably anticipated safety practices, procedures, and guidelines must be observed at all times.

  • Establish part locations and relocate, build, and replenish reserve, excess and primary picking locations as needed. Verifications of inventory variances and location additions and deletions (which include cycle counts, inventory or stock verifications or stock verifications in some locations) are also performed. Other processes include properly locating parts by frequency and zone, and ensure storage for maximum efficiency and productivity.

  • Exhibit dedication to continuous improvement, participation on warehouse committees, kaizen projects, and various project teams. Team Members are also responsible for the organization and cleanliness of assigned work areas in the warehouse.

  • Be trained and available to operate powered equipment including: order pickers, tuggers, reach trucks, and counterbalanced forklifts (stand up and sit down).

  • Attach identifying tags to container or mark them with appropriate identifying information.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • On the job training in safety, quality, and productivity

  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution preferred

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Good problem solving skills and strong attention to detail

  • Dependable and fosters teamwork

  • Ability to correctly process inventory by accurately: picking, storing, shipping, and receiving automotive parts of varying shape, size and dimension, weighing from a few ounces to greater than 100 pounds by applying basic arithmetic processes, and using powered equipment, when required

  • Ability to balance, carry, stand, walk, lift, stoop, bend, push, pull, climb stairs/ladders, perform repetitive overhead reaching, operate various hand tools, and operate powered equipment (reach trucks, order pickers, counterbalance forklifts, and tugger/tugger jacks) at heights up to 25 feet

  • Ability to lift and carry parts to a maximum weight of 50 pounds from the floor to shoulder and push and/or pull up to 75 pounds of force without power equipment assistance

  • Use computers to enter, access or retrieve data

  • Must be willing to be cross-trained and move to other areas when needed
