Diverse Staffing is currently seeking Welder candidates for a position working at a client site in Litchfield, MI. You will earn $14.00/hour on this full-time contractor assignment. It is a first shift position. 

Our client for this assignment is a woman-owned manufacturer of wire & iron products including material handling equipment, self-dumping hoppers & wire mesh partitions. They produce items like window guards, chip & waste trucks, storage lockers, police evidence lockers & cabinets, guards & guarding, cages, dumpers, corrugated steel containers, and more. This is an excellent opportunity!

Here are some of the day-to-day duties a Welder can expect in this type of assignment:

• Set up and operate welding equipment, power source, wire for routine established work.
• Select correct fixture or tooling for the job task with setup documents.
• Load, install and correctly set up the tools required.
• Perform assigned work to quality expectations and timely completion or standards.
• Account for time and work completed via secondary cards or production cards.
• Make routine decisions and use problem-solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
• Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
• Participate in equipment preventative maintenance (PM's) at the operator level.

Job Requirements

• Must have strong welding skills and basic fabrication background.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a welding environment.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of welding operations.
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring using gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Demonstrate competency in shop math.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
• Able to use lifting devices as required.
• Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork    
• orientation.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• The desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
• Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work well in an environment that changes pace.
